Last month Toolbox Brewing Company unleashed a wave of funkiness with several different bottles of fruited beers, two of which were grapefruit based. We knew we wanted to review one of their tangy creations, and Sara decided on this Spring Shandy, since it sounded super tart, but also showcased one of her favorite flavors — ginger.
It’s worth noting that this beer was “shandy inspired” — not technically a shandy — which is a lager with juice or soda mixed in. This shandy was actually a Berliner Weisse, and as the name implies, it was brewed with grapefruit and ginger.
