In case you missed our review a few weeks back, we are looking at each release in Mother Earth Brew Co’s “Four Seasons of Mother Earth” 2016 series. The initial Spring release was a barleywine aged in wine barrels. It sounded wildly creative in concept, but sadly it fell a little short.
What’s rapidly becoming our favorite variant of barrel aged beer is a blonde or saison aged in some type of red wine vessel (barrel, cask, foudre, etc). These wine barrel aged beers impart the palate with a refreshing funk of wine grape mustiness, and that’s exactly what Mother Earth delivered here with their latest Four Seasons of Mother Earth, Summer Belgian Golden Ale.
