Four Seasons Of Mother Earth: Autumn Scotch Ale

The year is almost over, and so is our look at the Four Seasons of Mother Earth series from Mother Earth Brew Co. Each release has been barrel aged, with a Barleywine in Spring, and a Belgian Blonde in wine barrels for summer. Now we’re onto the Autumn release, which is a Scotch Ale aged in bourbon barrels.

The Scotch Ale style, aka Wee Heavy, is a strong ale known for its sturdy malt backbone, and sweeter caramel and toffee flavors. One thing we will say about this beer is the scotch ale profile and bourbon paired fantastically, easily making this the best bottle of the series thus far.
