Alpine Hop Boxed

We drank Alpine Beer Company Hop Boxed at the San Diego Beer Week Brewers Guild Festival, and it was the best beer of the day. Yes, there were 180+ beers on tap — and no we didn’t try them all — but it was tops for us. In our opinion, it even bested BNS Revolver IPA, which had just won gold at 2015 Great American Beer Festival.

Now that Green Flash has taken over production of several core Alpine beers, these mad IPA scientists are free to get back into their lupulin lab and brew up even more amazing hopped-up masterpieces like Hop Boxed, HFS, and Singled Out (single hop series). What Alpine did with Hop Boxed was take Duet’s malt bill, but instead of Simcoe and Amarillo hops, they used Citra and Mosaic.
